Happy Memories in Hong Kong
We had been uncertain of our trip with the ongoing unrest there but with all our friends continuing on with their day to day lives, what excuse did we have to not visit? Things were definitely different with some noticeable damage to shops, banks and MTR stations which is so sad to see. A country that runs so smoothly now having transport issues, road blocks, and shops being vandalised, just doesn't seem right. It is still the ongoing conversation amongst friends and everyone is considering options for their future.
We loved being back in our old home - catching up with good friends, shopping, eating, drinking….. all the good things in life !! We were in HK for 3 nights and Max had 3 sleepovers with different friends - what a lucky boy !! Jack hung out with friends, enjoyed the freedom of teenagers in HK and even managed to go and watch his old baseball team rack up a win.
We left with 4 very empty bags and returned to India with 4 suitcases of Christmas presents and food. The joy of knowing we will have all the trimmings for Christmas was worth the horror hangovers we had for 3 days !!
Hong Kong will always have a place in our heart and it is really quite sad to see it being in such a state of flux.
