Hospital Registration and the Week that was

Living in India comes with many unique and challenging experiences.  One of which is the fact that you will get sick at some point while living here - it's a given.  The question is, what the sickness will be and then how serious it will be.  We learned from our previous time in Bangalore to register with the nearest and best hospital to ensure you have all the admin process out of the way 'before' you need it.  When you seriously need a doctor or the emergency room, you do NOT want to be dealing with paperwork !

Due to the horrendous traffic conditions in most Indian cities, it is best to register at the nearest hospital and that way if you are in an emergency situation, you can just arrive and then be seen by the next available doctor.  The actual process of seeing a doctor and getting any medication you need is a whole different story here, and requires a number of different admin tasks and probably a number of blogs.  So I will not bore you with that for now.

So, today I went and registered the four of us with our nearest hospital, the Continental Hospital, which is about 10 minutes away from home and will be our go-to for all things medical.  Lets hope we need them only occasionally !!!  It cost 100 rupees each to register - AUD $2.00 and we are all provided with our own ID numbers for when we visit.  As I was leaving, I did notice there was a Platinum Lounge - maybe that is for Mike (the Sir !!!!)  definitely wouldn't be for the Ma'am.

Below are few photos below of my adventures during the week.

I'm not sure this is the sort of Platinum lounge Mike was hoping for !
