Australia v India at M. Chinnaswamy

Last weekend, the boys spent the day at M. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore hoping that the Aussie boys could pull off a win at the cricket against India. Sadly, that didn’t happen but the experience of seeing another international cricket game in India, was worth the effort.

Attending a cricket game in India is a truely crazy experience!! The entire process, starting with when, how and who tickets are available from, increases the blood pressure before you even get to the ground.  Then you can only buy 2 tickets 2 at a time..... making it difficult when you have kids with you and want to ensure they are all seated together!!

From prior visits, we now know that the food is unlikely to satisfy the kids, so loading up before you get there is a must.  Getting in and out of the stadium is a challenge, but when you get in there the atmosphere is out of this world.  The Indian supporters definitely know how to cheer on their team and the stadium only seats 40,000 people and boy do they make some noise!

Sadly, the scoreboard at Chinnaswamy is really difficult to read, understand and follow, as it is really small and only has limited detail.  So, many times you will only know what is going on by the reactions of the Indian crowd.  Additional struggles on the day were that beers were only available after 6.30pm - makes for a long day when you arrive at 1pm……. and dinner was not available until after 8pm !!!  Luckily the boys hit up the Hard Rock Cafe beforehand to fill their tummys !!

Following on from my last blog, the 'aroma's' were intense and then Mike noticed the man in front of them it took things to a whole new level - see the photo below……….  I really have no words !!!

Overall, it was a disappointing end to the game and we still haven't seen Australia win in India !!  The crowd became very very vocal towards the end the kids were definitely sick of hearing "Kohli, Kohli, Kohli " !!!
