An Interesting Initiative
India has some interesting initiatives to improve the livelihood of the billion people living here. One of the more interesting concepts is the introduction of Tax certificates. This was introduced in 2016, where taxpayers receive a formal certificate on payment of their taxes.
There are Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum certificates depending on the amount of tax you pay.
What is the ‘purpose’ of this certificate? Well, it is a sign of appreciation and the recipient should be so proud of reviving this from the government, and display the certificate with honour in their home or place of business !!
Mike’s certificate is going to be printed, framed and then, straight to the pool room !! I wonder if such initiatives would help with pride and government engagement in other countries ? I really don’t think so.
